Film Center for Global Humanities Lecture/Seminar Series
The Gulf of Maine is warming faster than almost any body of ocean water in the world. This makes it the perfect living laboratory for studying climate change, the single greatest threat to humanity’s survival. As Maine scientists research the impacts of climate change in and around the Gulf, they must reckon with what the unsettling data tells us about the future, what role scientists should play in advocating for political and societal change, and how the next generation will adapt to the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Join us for a film screening of Reckoning with Climate Change in the Gulf of Maine, followed by a panel discussion with UNE faculty featured in the film.
