Student Organization

Witnessing the Holocaust Through Photography: A UNE Alpha Omega Exhibition and Guest Speaker.
On January 27 each year, the United Nations (UN) remembers the 11 million victims of the Holocaust, six million which were Jews, by declaring January 27th International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day commemorates when the Soviet troops liberated the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland on January 27, 1945.

For the 75th Anniversary of the freeing of Auschwitz-Birkenau UNE Alpha Omega will host an event featuring photography taken at concentration camps, particularly Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Guest Speaker will be Abraham Peck, PhD, part-time History faculty at USM on German History, the Holocaust & Genocide.
