Gay Men Can't Jump
Eric Carlyle, cofounder and Executive Director of Compete Sports Media, will share stories of gay and lesbian amateur and professional athletes making it in a straight world while sharing the common traits that run between all successfully out athletes in all sports.
Compete was founded in 2006 by Eric Carlyle and David Riach, then members of the Phoenix Storm gay rugby team. After attending the Bingham Cup, the world championship of gay rugby, the men noticed a lack of media coverage and Compete Magazine was born (originally as Sports Out Loud). Compete magazine, weekly radio show and interactive website are "groundbreaking" for its coverage of gay athletes and sports.
