Homeless Voices for Justice
THIS LECTURE WILL TAKE PLACE IN LUDCKE AUDITORIUM (as of 9/11/12)
Homeless voices for justice is a state-wide social change movement led by people who have struggled with homelessness. Their knowledge is critical to health professionals who seek to provide appropriate, respectful and effective care. A panel of advocate leaders will facilitate a discussion on the health challenges and legacies of being homeless and its implications for healthcare practice and policy.
Objectives:
1. Recognize the complex health needs of homeless individuals and families.
2. Identify professional responsibility to more effectively and appropriately meet the healthcare needs and desires of this population.
3. Become aware of policy issues that affect access to appropriate healthcare across health disciplines.
