Overview

By opting for one of our 4+1 Environmental Programs, you can earn your B.S. and M.S. in just five years. In your fourth year, you’ll continue to expand your understanding of environmental issues and make important contributions to the field through original research related to your thesis project. Your fifth year will be spent finishing your research and polishing your scientific communication skills by writing and presenting your thesis.

Which track is right for me?

The curriculum for the Environmental Science and Studies majors largely diverges during the third year when students take more directed advanced courses. Environmental Science majors choose courses from a suite of ecological, evolutionary, geospatial, and conservation-based classes, many with associated field labs. Environmental Studies majors choose from a suite of classes that explore policy, communication, literature, economics, and ethics.
