Anouar Majid discusses his latest book at the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies

The Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies (TALIM) hosted a talk on March 16, 2012 by Anouar Majid, Ph.D., associate provost for global initiatives and director of the Center for Global Humanities, who discussed his latest book, Islam and America: Building a Future without Prejudice. The talk was also the topic of a TALIM Dirctor's Blog post on March 19th.

The director writes: "Majid's struggle against 'unproven certitudes' is tricky territory, both in the United States of 2012 and in the shifting sands of the post-Arab Spring Muslim world.  But engagement in lively debate with this man of letters is very fulfilling, and we look forward to further sessions with him at TALIM."

Majid is the author of five critically acclaimed books on Islam and the West and a novel, Si Yussef, which has been the focus of much scholarly and critical interest.
