UNE’s Title IX Coordinator Angela Shambarger earns award from local domestic violence resource center

Angela Shambarger, UNE’s Title IX coordinator, has been named Young Adult Abuse Prevention Program (YAAPP) Ally of the Year by the domestic violence resource center Through These Doors, formerly known Family Crisis Services.

Shambarger was selected for the honor based on her deep dedication to providing support to survivors and creating a safer campus; her coordination with Through These Doors and Caring Unlimited advocates to ensure support for students; her willingness to learn about community resources and best practices in prevention education; and her demonstration of empathy, warmth, humor and professionalism in pursuit of improving UNE’s prevention and response initiatives.

She will receive the award on May 17 at Through These Doors’ annual fundraising event.
