Setting Up CITI Training

Setting up CITI Training is slightly different according to the user’s research type. Steps 1 through 7 are the same no matter your research subject:

  • Go to https://www.citiprogram.org/Default.asp
  • Click on Register
  • Under Participating Institutions, select University of New England then provide the rest of the required information. Enter at least one email address (this does not have to be a UNE email address).
  • Select "no" on Step 5, CME/CUE credits.
  • Once all the information is input, click "select."
  • Follow the rest of the instructions.
  • Select the appropriate sections in Question 4.

One you have completed these steps, you will need to select the appropriate training modules — this is where the instructions vary.

For IACUC members, the modules that need to be completed are:

  • IACUC Chairs, Members, and Coordinators

For Marine Science researchers, the modules that need to be completed are:

  • Investigators, Staff, and Students — Includes the Working with the IACUC module
  • Species specific modules — Fish

For Rodent researchers, the modules that need to be complete are:

  • Minimizing Pain and Distress
  • Investigators, Staff, and Students — Includes the Working with the IACUC module
  • Working with rats and working with mice (dependent on which species you will be using)

For Zebrafish researchers, the modules that need to be completed are:

  • Investigators, Staff, and Students — Includes the Working with the IACUC module
  • Species specific modules — Zebrafish

For Wildlife researchers, the modules that need to be completed are:

If you aren’t sure about how to select the correct modules please set up your account (steps 1–5) and then contact Ivy Bergquist, who can assist with setting up the correct modules.
