David came to UNE’s Global Education Program in November 2018. Originally from Minnesota, David completed his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, with a minor in Health Communication at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. During his undergraduate studies, David spent a semester studying abroad at United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, China. Upon graduating, he returned to UIC and worked in the English Language Centre and the Centre for Advanced Professional Studies.

After spending several years living and working in China, David pursued an opportunity to work for CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange in Portland, Maine. During his time at CIEE, David worked in a variety of positions helping support J-1 exchange students who were coming to the United States on a variety of cultural exchange programs. While at CIEE, David also completed his Master's Degree in International Education Administration & Leadership through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This allowed him to further develop his theoretical understanding of international education, student services, and best practices for student engagement abroad.

David is eager to assist UNE students with finding the right global education program(s) which will help fulfill their own personal, academic, and professional goals. Feel free to stop by the Global Desk in Ripich Commons or Decary 126 to learn more about which program(s) might be right for you!
