Developmental Math Specialist
Before getting a BS in Industrial Technology, I worked as a carpenter for a commercial construction company. My career in education began by teaching carpentry, math, CAD and architectural design at both the high school and community college level. After receiving my MS in Special Education I began teaching in a more non-traditional setting.
I have three adult children and three grandchildren who all live within a 45 minute radius so we visit together at least every other week. I am active with my church family and teach Sunday school and sing on the worship team. I enjoy RV'ing, motorcycling, ATV'ing, snowmobiling, hiking and most outdoor sports. I own rental homes, so I continue to enjoy spending time in my first love; carpentry.
As a half-time Math Specialist here at UNE, I teach Advanced Algebra and tutor students taking Precalculus and Statistics at the Student Academic Success Center. As a half-time Learning Specialist, I teach an OpportUNEties for Success course, give presentaions on learning strategies and meet with students individually for many learning topics.
