Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences


The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is dedicated to improving health and advancing scientific discovery through excellence in teaching, research and service in the Maine community and to the public, private and commercial institutions worldwide.

In providing the basic science component of UNE's professional Pharmacy program, we instill critical thinking, depth of understanding and a professional outlook in our students, who will become team leaders and outstanding practitioners.

Our research develops and applies new technologies to important therapeutic problems and cultivates basic knowledge in the diverse scientific disciplines comprising the biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences.


The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to providing you with a quality experience in basic and applied research. Disciplines represented within the department include physiology, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and medicinal, biological, pharmaceutical and computational chemistry.
