I am a History major because I love history. Everything has a history and UNE's History Department can show you that and inspire you to pursue history all around. Department Chair Professor Elizabeth De Wolfe will do anything for her students and creates classrooms with hands-on experiences that allow students to learn history by teaching themselves. I hope to bring this technique to my own classroom one day.

The other professors too will do anything for you. The History Department also offers classes that really allow you to explore history in a fun and active way, which I didn’t encounter in my experience with two other colleges.

At UNE in one meeting, I explained my desire to start an after-school program and then my professor helped me make it happen. In another class, I worked with a group of other students to help create a piece of a museum exhibit that was on display for five months at a local museum.

I spend countless hours each week at schools, meeting the people that will help shape my future as a history educator. There are a variety of opportunities to help you learn and grow.
