"I chose English as a major because it is my passion, and I have found myself in an environment at UNE that allows me to explore that passion intimately. I have grown in so many ways because of my time here. The faculty members that dedicated themselves to my intellectual growth, the incredible friends I have made, and the life experiences that have shaped my perspectives — all these things have been integral parts of my experience at UNE.
"I remember looking for schools, and my teachers from high school were raving about the classroom size and student-to-teacher ratio (at UNE).
"So, I took their word for it, and you know what? They were right. The relationships that I have formed with my professors are almost to the point of friendship — even if they are somewhat sadist creatures sometimes. I love being an English student, and it may be because of my pure passion for the language, but I attribute a lot of that passion to my professors’ abilities to instill excitement and relevance to the literature we read and to stress the importance of our writing."
