Your UNE experience takes place on our waterfront campus in Biddeford. Amidst this inspiring seaside setting, you gain a grounding in the liberal arts and an expert’s knowledge of your discipline.
You benefit from small classes and opportunities to work closely with faculty members conducting research in our world-class facilities. You enjoy campuswide events that bring world leaders to campus, encouraging you to contemplate some of the most important issues of our time from a multidimensional perspective.
Our Global Education Program enables you to stay on track with required lab science and humanities courses while gaining international experience. Spend a semester on our campus in Tangier, Morocco, or in Seville, Spain, for the same cost as studying in Maine, or take shorter faculty-led trips to the coral reefs of Belize, the Galapagos Islands, Latin America, Brazil, Kenya, England, Iceland and other points of cultural and academic interest around the globe.
Your time at UNE also includes valuable experiences outside the academic setting. More than 60 student clubs—ranging from the Nor’easter News, our student newspaper; to the Surf Club; to UNE Players, our student theater company—allow you to interact with other students and faculty members in the ways that matter most to you.
If you like sports, we offer 15 varsity teams that play at a state-of-the-art athletic complex. As a non-varsity player, you can participate in club and intramural sports. You can also enjoy our health and fitness center, weight room, hot tub, sauna, racquetball courts, indoor track, and open-skate and open-swim periods offered by our ice arena and pool. If you’re a surfer or beach lover, the Atlantic Ocean is never more than a short walk away.
