The annual “Sculpture Garden Invitational” is a highlight of the summer and fall in the city, and stands as the best opportunity for people to see a variety of sculpture by many different artists.

The UNE Art Gallery mounts six exhibitions annually in a variety of mediums. The exhibitions range from contemporary fine art to photography, to international themes, to works by women and Maine artists.
In addition, from June through October, an Annual Sculpture Garden sprouts up around the Gallery’s exterior. On occasion, exhibitions are arranged at other locations on both UNE campuses.
The Art Gallery also houses a permanent collection of paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures by nationally and internationally known artists. Selections are shown on a rotating basis on the Gallery’s Lower Level as well as in special exhibitions every third year.
