The Deborah Morton Society’s support of the Deborah Morton Endowed Scholarship is one of the most important aspects of the Deborah Morton Society.
The recipients of the Deborah Morton Endowed Scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year are nursing student Melissa C. Brassard of the Class of 2017 and dental hygiene student Katy Chute of the Class of 2017.
The Deborah Morton Society Endowed Scholarship Fund
The fund was established in 1974, as a means of maintaining the society’s legacy of commitment to future Maine women leaders. A key focus of the Deborah Morton Society, the fund has provided more than 80 students with critical financial aid and a meaningful vote of confidence.
Scholarships are awarded annually to women Maine residents who are entering members of the undergraduate senior class in a Westbrook College of Health Professions program on the Portland Campus. Recipients must have proven financial need and have manifested outstanding qualities of character, leadership and academic ability.
