Discover France

In Saint-Germain-en-Laye, you'll experience life in a small yet vibrant community with a royal history. Saint-Germain-en-Laye was once a royal town filled with chateaus and castles, and you can still experience that past through the elegant tree-lined streets and dramatic architecture.

While based in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, you'll be perfectly situated to explore the culture, food and history of Paris. Visit the Eiffel Tower, stare down Mona Lisa in the Louvre, indulge in French pastries and experience the world-class music and arts scene. You'll also have easy access to trains, buses and budget flights that will enable you to explore the rest of France and the European continent.

Living in France

You'll be housed in your own furnished studio apartment near campus, a short walk from the Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye campus. Your apartment offers both privacy and proximity to the campus community of French and international students. You'll also be close to public transportation, allowing you to reach the Paris city center in about 20 minutes — and to explore other nearby towns and cities.

You'll begin your study abroad experience before even leaving home by participating in information sessions and a pre-departure orientation with the Global Education team. The orientation will enable you to connect with other students in the group, reflect on your goals and get important information about the program. In addition, peer advisers who have participated in the program previously are available to answer questions.

UNE students enroll in semester courses taught at the Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye campus, a globally recognized university that specializes in political science.

The courses taught at Sciences Po are particularly applicable for UNE students majoring in political science or for students who are hoping to fulfill some of their core curriculum and electives requirements abroad.
