Peter Oestergaard

Oestergaard completed his first season as UNE's Head Men's Soccer Coach with a ledger of 6-8-4. The Nor'easters posted their best road record in four years (3-4-3) under Oestergaard, and went 1-3-1 (with three one-goal setbacks) against the five NCAA tournament teams on the schedule. 

Prior to joining the Big Blue staff, he was an assistant coach under Mark Serdjenian at Colby College the past three seasons (2010-2012). Oestergaard coached professionally in his native country of Denmark, serving as head coach of Boldklubben Sollerod-Vedbaek (BSV) in the Danish Football Association from 2003 through 2008. During his tenure, Oestergaard elevated BSV into the Second Division based on a first-place finish during the 2004 season. Oestergaard was inducted into the BSV Hall of Fame in 2010. 

Oestergaard has an impressive soccer education and training background, including a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) B License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma, and five licenses through the Danish Football Association.

An accomplished player, Oestergaard played semi-professionally for the Bedbaek Soccer Club from 1985 through 1997. He attended Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine as an exchange student in 1984-85, and holds a business degree from Lyngby Business School in Denmark.

Oestergaard and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Bath and have two daughters (Nikoline and Signe) and one son (P.C.). Their oldest, Nikoline, plays basketball at NCAA Division I Quinnipiac University.
