The University of New England believes that all faculty, staff, administration, students, and patrons are entitled to a safe and healthy campus. To insure this ideal, UNE will commit resources to aggressively remove the recognized hazards, provide education and training, provide appropriate personal protective equipment, as well as hold everyone accountable and responsible for good health and safety practices.

In addition, UNE will develop, implement, and maintain the University's environmental health and safety policies and procedures for all University activities in accordance with federal and state regulations. These policies and procedures will be continuously reviewed to ensure that UNE is meeting the goal of providing a safe and healthy campus community.

I commend our University Wide Safety Committee for developing a clear, concise, and important policy statement on Environment Health and Safety. It is the responsibility of everyone on this campus to ensure that the standards are implemented."
