Art Education

Guided by professional scholars and nationally renowned artists, you study the theory and practice of education, and learn strategies to employ as a visual arts teacher at the elementary or secondary level. 

Your studio work culminates with an exhibition of your own art, ensuring you possess a firm understanding of the artistic process and its expressive capabilities. You graduate ready to be a skilled advocate for the arts, holding Maine state teaching certification (K-12) in the visual arts.

Honors Program

We offer qualified students the option of participating in our Honors Program and graduating with Honors. This includes significant research, scholarship or creative activity under the direction of a faculty member.
