The Feminist Paper Doll Project

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Maine Women Writers Collection, Abplanalp Library
Bridget McAlonan

Free and open to the public

Bridget McAlonan is the creator of the Feminist Paper Doll Project, aimed at honoring and bringing awareness to the rich history of feminism in the great State of Maine. In presenting both contemporary and historical figures that have contributed to creating equality for the whole society as paper puppets, she intends to disarm any negative preconceptions the viewer might have about feminism. Come join in the conversation and create your very own paper doll. Some supplies will be available, but feel free to bring in any of your own materials, recycled materials are highly recommended! Please feel free to bring your own brown bag lunch. This is the second in the UNE School of Social Work's Artist Talk and Brown Bag Lunch series that stems from the Arts and Justice gallery showcase.
