Brian Duff quoted in AP story published nationwide

June 02, 2014

Brian Duff, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Political Science, was quoted in an Associated Press story on Maine’s second district election.

The article compares candidates Emily Cain, “a polished dealmaker from the district’s most populous county” and Troy Jackson, “a plainspoken working-class advocate from a remote logging town.”

Duff said of the latter, "If he's got a big strength in this race against Emily Cain, it is that contrast."

The story appeared in online media around the nation, including the San Francisco Chronicle and the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
