University of New England College of Pharmacy
Since 2009, outstanding education, scholarship, and service contributions have been exemplified by UNE college of Pharmacy faculty, staff and students.
Recently the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved the continued candidate status for the Program at the University of New England. The College continues its journey to full accreditation with the graduation of our first class in the spring of 2013.
The College admitted our first professional doctoral classes in the fall 2009, 2010, and 2011 semesters, with 99, 97 and 100 students respectively. This year's incoming class of 90 students is another very culturally diverse group of students from all over the United States and the world. Maine and New England are also well represented with almost 30% of the entire student body coming from Maine and 53% from New England.
This was an exciting moment for the state, as Maine's acute shortage of pharmacists had been well-documented and projected to worsen. Now, UNE is a leading educator of the next generation of pharmacists for Maine and New England. From pharmaceutical sciences to research to pharmacy practice, the College of Pharmacy is encouraging excellence as it prepares our next generation of caring and committed pharmacy leaders.
UNE's College of Pharmacy is dedicated to educating pharmacists who work effectively in providing contemporary and interprofessional team-based patient care and are committed to serving their communities.
The College's Office of Continuing Education has been granted provider status from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). This makes UNE the first accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire.
The College has successfully recruited and retained a very talented group of faculty members who are providing outstanding pharmacy clinical services and advancing research in the pharmaceutical, biomedical, clinical and administrative sciences.
