Community Input

The Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee would like to thank UNE community members who made arrangements in their busy schedules to meet with our strategic planning consultants on Monday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 23. We had a terrific turnout of faculty, professional staff, and students on both campuses. In addition to the open sessions, our advising team got to hear from the deans, task force chairs, student affairs leaders, the professional staff executive committee, an online faculty and staff group, and our faculty assembly leaders, just to name a few. Of course, this will be our plan and the consultants are guiding us to keep us on track, so they met with the President and the Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee, as well.
We are pleased to report that the emails are coming in from all of our stakeholders. We encourage you to send in additional thoughts via the link on the website and stayed tuned for updates as we continue this important process in collaboration with all of you.

We will have opportunities for meetings in March and again later in the spring, so there will be ample opportunity to provide your guidance and ideas. In the meantime, you are encouraged to provide suggestions at any time by emailing Every idea will be cataloged, considered, and reviewed by the Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee. Please consider these questions in the open sessions and in your email communication, as a place to start:

  • What are the most important issues and opportunities facing UNE
  • What are UNE’s greatest strengths?
  • What vulnerabilities does UNE face — both internal factors, as well as challenges from the external environment?
  • What big, audacious ideas would you like to see the University stake out as part of its vision for the future?
