Building Narratives Workshop

Workshop Format:Building Narratives is a series of intermediate fiction workshops, which meet over an eight week period in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer at the Maine Women Writers Collection.

The first two classes will focus on critique skills, evaluating style and structure in narrative. Each week thereafter, participants will examine and

discuss one element of fiction to gain a deeper understanding of the components of narrative and sharpen their skills as writers.

Topics include point of view, plot, narrative voice, flashbacks, dialogue, and other key elements of a good story.  Short, in-class exercises will be given, as well as reading assignments.  This course is ideal for beginning writers, but also offers a refresher for more advanced writers.

This intermediate fiction course is open to all members of the community, with a limit of 8 participants.

Enrollment is $200 for the eight-week
series. Limited to 8 participants.
