Alan Rich

Dr. Alan Rich was born in Portland, ME. He attended Deering High School followed by Amherst College, where he earned a B.A. (cum laude) in English and played varsity rugby. Dr. Rich served in the U.S. Army Dental Corp in Heidelberg, Germany from 1978-1981, and since 1981 he has been in private practice in Portland, ME. Professionaly, he is an active member of the ADA, MDA, and Casco Bay Study Club, and he has also served on the SAD15 Board of Directors for 15 years (10 years as chair). Dr. Rich is married with three grown children, and his hobbies include playing and refereeing rugby football, woodworking, playing guitar and banjo, hiking and mountaineering, and antique automobile and motorcycle restoration.
