Lliam Harrison speaks at Maine Research Integrity Symposium

Lliam Harrison, director of research integrity, was an invited speaker at the 2013 Maine Research Integrity Symposium, which was held on May 24, 2013. He has spoken at every Symposium since founding the series in 2008.

This year, Harrison’s topic was "The Havasupai Case Study: Tilousi vs. Arizona Board of Regents," and he explored a case of human subject research gone wrong, which resulted in a $75,000,000 million dollar lawsuit against Arizona State University, its researchers and its institutional review board (IRB).

The talk focused on emerging issues of genetics, human population studies and the evolving concept of informed consent and privacy.
