Dora Mills interviewed for ‘MPBN’ story about E. coli

Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P., vice president for Clinical Affairs, was interviewed about E. coli after two children became infected after visiting a petting zoo at a local fair.

One child died from the infection and another is in critical condition. MPBN asked Mills how these types of infections occur. She told the radio program that E. coli are part of the normal bacteria in human and animal intestines, but "some are very pathogenic, meaning they can cause illness - and can cause very severe illness. Particularly those types of E. coli you can find in other animals besides humans."
