'Journal Tribune' publishes Jeanne Hey’s op-ed on UNE’s articulation agreements

Jeanne Hey, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, penned an op-ed that was published in the Journal Tribune on November 21, 2015.

Hey’s piece affirmed UNE’s commitment to expand access to higher education for local area students through the signing of articulation agreements with various local high schools and community colleges.

According to Hey, the agreements, which allow for easy transfers of community college or high school Advanced Placement credits, “are designed to increase the pathways to higher education for students, while helping them to contain the costs associated with attaining a four-year degree.”

UNE has signed articulation agreements with Southern Maine Community College, Great Bay Community College, Central Maine Community College, Thornton Academy and Biddeford High School, and administrators are currently working towards agreements with several other local educational institutions.
