Brian Duff, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Political Science, was quoted in a December 19 article in the Portland Press Herald about the ways in which Senator Susan Collins of Maine is drawing a contrast between herself and President-elect Donald Trump.

The article notes views on Russia and the Affordable Care Act as two major subjects on which Collins and Trump disagree.

Duff told the Press Herald that he believes Collins is positioning herself as a major influencer of Trump’s legislative priorities. He anticipates that Collins will receive significant attention as controversial issues are debated in the Senate. “We will be hearing a lot about Susan Collins in the national media,” Duff said. “She will be coming under a lot of fire.”
