In the wake of presidential election results, Brian Duff, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Political Science, was interviewed by MPBN on November 10 about his predictions regarding President-elect Donald Trump.

Duff expressed his view that Trump may not have as much of a negative effect on the country as his opposition fears, as his time as president may be occupied with  endeavors such as hurling insults and engaging in Twitter wars. “There is some possibility that Donald Trump will stay busy just doing that, and he’ll let Mike Pence and the Congress worry about how to run the country… The guy does not seem to have a real passion for policy. I would be shocked to see one develop in the next three months.”

Duff contended that if Trump does become active in political initiatives, they will likely focus on the issues of immigration and free trade.
