Isaac Stickney of UNE’s College of Dental Medicine elected to ADEA office

Isaac Stickney

Isaac Stickney, M.Ed., educational support coordinator in the College of Dental Medicine, has been elected as the new secretary for the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Section on Dental School Admissions Officers. Stickney was named to the position at the 2017 ADEA Annual Session in Long Beach, California.

The ADEA Section on Dental School Admissions Officers explores issues of importance to those involved with the recruitment, evaluation and selection of potential dental students. It actively collaborates and holds an interim meeting with the sections on Financial Aid Administration and Student Affairs. In this role, Stickney will attend the ADEA Fall and Annual sessions and interface with the leadership staff of other ADEA sections.

Stickney also presented at this year’s ADEA Annual Session on March 19. His 60-minute seminar, titled “Multiple Mini Interviews in Dental School Admissions: Challenges and Opportunities," explained how the UNE College of Dental Medicine (CDM) has implemented Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) in the admissions process. In the presentation, Stickney summarized the use of MMIs in dental education admissions and about his experience using these interviews at the CDM during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 admissions cycles.
