U N E College of Pharmacy Dean, Gayle BrazeauMessage from Dean Brazeau

Welcome to the College of Pharmacy at the University of New England. The College of Pharmacy is a growing and dynamic program housed in our state-of-the-art building on the Portland Campus.

We admitted our first professional doctoral class in the fall of 2009, with 99 students joining that inaugural class. That class, and every one since, has comprised a culturally diverse group, hailing from all over the United States and around the world. We are poised for continued success in the areas of interprofessional education, scholarship, clinical practice and community service.

I enthusiastically encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our outstanding Doctor of Pharmacy program. Our Pharm.D. provides students with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed for a wide variety of pharmacy career options.

A hallmark of our program is its focus on scholarly and creative activities. Although we are a young program, we value the opportunity for students to develop their individual intellectual curiosity and passion by becoming engaged in scholarly activities, whether they involve experiences in faculty research efforts, faculty clinical practice sites, or our teaching laboratories. Our dedicated faculty members, staff members and pharmacy preceptors are committed to our students' personal and professional growth throughout their Pharm.D. education and into their careers.

The student pharmacists in our program continually challenge each other and the faculty and staff, as we collectively advance knowledge in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and clinical sciences, and strive for continued improvements in teaching and learning in our classrooms, labs and practice sites.

We value the importance of student involvement in professional organizations and within the community. This commitment to service provides educational experiences which assist in the development of the life-long learning skills and sense of social responsibility that exceptional pharmacists must possess.
