Ali Ahmida presents lectures during research trip to Libya

Ali Abdullatif Ahmida, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, spent Oct. 3 -12, 2010 in Libya interviewing survivors of colonial internment and researching materials at the Libyan National Archives and the University of Sabha for a new book. While at the university, he gave two talks: "American Higher Education and American Society: An Overview" and "Religion (Islam) in he Making of the American Constitution." Ahmida is the author of The Making of Modern Libya: State Formation, Colonization and Resistance and is the Ludcke Chair of Liberal Arts and Sciences for 2010-11.
