David Perkins ’13 publishes article in 'The Auk'

David Perkins ’13, an environmental science major, co-authored an article that was recently published in the journal The Auk.  Perkins co-authored the paper with Assistant Professor Noah Perlut, Ph.D., of the Department of Environmental Studies.

The paper, titled “Minor Fitness Benefits for Edge Avoidance in Nesting Grassland Birds in the Northeastern United States,” discusses a study from which the researchers concluded that grassland songbirds in Vermont avoided nesting near their habitat edges, but for those who nested close to the edges, only minor consequences of predation resulted.
