Susan Jarmuz-Smith presents all-day workshop to two groups on crisis prevention and preparedness

Susan Jarmuz-Smith, M.S., BCBA, board certified behavior analyst and assistant lecturer in the Department of Psychology, presented  an all-day workshop for the Maine Association of School Psychologists on November 14, 2014, and again on December 12, 2014, for the 2014-2015 Best Practices in Applied Psychology Workshop Series.

 Titled "PREPaRE — Crisis Prevention and Preparedness: Comprehensive School Safety Planning," the workshop was attended by emergency management personnel, police officers, school administrators and school psychologists. The training focused on establishing and sustaining comprehensive, ongoing school safety and crisis prevention, mitigation, and preparedness based on the principles of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Incident Management System.
