The University of New England is pleased to announce the 2022-2023 recipients of the Glover Memorial Scholarship for Climate Change Studies.

This year’s recipients are Sophie Piette (Marine Affairs, ’24), Natasha Poutiatine (Environmental Science, ’24), and Caitlin Avelis (Aquaculture and Aquarium Science, ’25). The scholarship is open to students of any major as long as they are minoring in Climate Change Studies at UNE.

In alignment with UNE’s mission of improving the lives of people, communities, and the planet, the Glover Memorial Scholarship, to be given annually, is designated for early-career students who have a passion for fighting climate change and making the world a better place.

Funding for the Glover Memorial Scholarship comes from the Kinsman Trust, an educational trust dedicated to helping students who are concerned with stopping and healing climate change. The trust, which formerly administered the Kinsman Trust Scholarship for Climate Change Studies, has transferred its scholarship endowment to UNE, which will oversee the scholarship in perpetuity.
