Events

The Office of Intercultural Student Engagement provides an array of educational lectures, co-curricular programs and workshops, and student leadership opportunities that promote diversity and enhance intercultural understanding. Most events are open to the entire UNE community and many are open to the general public as well.

UNE Diversity Lecture Series

The UNE Diversity Lecture Series brings speakers and programs to both campuses that critically examine issues of diversity, equity, and justice, and promote a more diverse and culturally pluralistic community. Past speakers include government officials, activists, business people, authors, artists, professors, and students.

Beginning February 28, 2019, we will be showing a weekly documentary and having tea and discussion in the Cultural Exchange Lounge. Come join us every Thursday from 2–4 p.m.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is an institutional event held annually to commemorate the life and legacy of MLK, Jr. with keynote speakers, cultural events, volunteer opportunities, and other activities that promote social justice.

Workshops and Trainings

Workshops and trainings on a variety of content areas related to cultural diversity are available, including in-class lectures. Interested faculty, professional staff, or student organizations should contact ISE for more information.

Collaboration

Intercultural Student Engagement staff works closely with student groups, faculty, and staff from other UNE departments across both campuses to collaborate on programs. We are always open to suggestions for speakers or programming ideas. For more information on ways to get involved, contact ISE.
