Conserving Marine Resources & Coastal Ecosystems

Please join Dr. Hinojosa,  Nicole Anderson, Academic Liaison, and UNE graduates Christina Perazio, and Samantha Assarian for information on the educational and research opportunities available at the School for Field Studies (SFS) Research Center in Bahia Magdalena, Mexico.  Perazio and Assarian spent a semester studying at the center during their undergraduate years.  

Dr. Gustavo has been working with the communities associated with marine environments such as seagrass, sandy areas, maerl, and rhodoliths since the early stages of his professional development. Gustavo was awarded a scholarship from the Mexican Council for Sciences and Technology (CONACYT) for his Ph.D. in Marine Ecology at the Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Dr. Hinojosa has taught undergraduate (Vegetal Physiology and Introductory Biology) and postgraduate modules (Coastal Ecology and Coastal Management) both in Mexico and the United Kingdom. In addition, he demonstrated different undergraduate modules such as Introductory Biology, General Biology, Biodiversity, and Marine Ecology at the Queen's University of Belfast. Gustavo has extensive research experience and has participated in numerous projects that include research with marine mammals, marine plants, and invertebrate communities.
