Not in Our Town, the critically acclaimed PBS special that sparked a national movement against hate and intolerance, tells the uplifting story of how the residents of Billings, Montana, joined together when their neighbors were threatened by white supremacists. Townspeople of all races and religions swiftly moved into action. Religious and community leaders, labor union volunteers, law enforcement, the local newspapers and concerned individuals stood united and spoke loudly for a hate-free community, proclaiming in no uncertain terms "Not In Our Town!"

Nicole has worked in the field of violence prevention education for eleven years, most recently as the Assistant Director of the Center for Preventing Hate from 2007-2010, and now the Director of the Unity Project, a comprehensive harassment prevention program for Maine schools. Nicole has worked with thousands of students, faculty, and staff across the United States and in Northern Ireland on issues of bias, harassment, and hate crime prevention.
