The Class is an award winning French drama that covers one year in the life of a Paris middle school.  Francois Marin is a French language and literature  teacher working in the inner-city school.  It is anything but  easy.  Together teacher and students face violence, ethnic tensions between classmates, and many other challenges.  The film won the 2008 Palme D'Or Best Picture Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
