About the Speaker
Siobhan Whelan’s career spanning over a decade, is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and support within newcomer communities. Commencing her professional journey as the Youth Program Manager at the community-based non-profit organization "Communities of Rooted Brilliance," she demonstrated a commitment to empowering young individuals and families.
Upon relocating to the East Coast, Siobhan assumed a pivotal role at the Office of Maine Refugee Services, where she adeptly managed grants and contracts, contributing significantly to the organization's mission. In January 2022, Siobhan Whelan assumed the role of the inaugural Director of the HIAS Refugee Resettlement Program at the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine (JCA). Her arrival at the JCA marked a new chapter in her career, further solidifying her dedication to facilitating the resettlement and integration of refugees within the Southern Maine community.
