College of Dental Medicine Class of 2030 White Coat Ceremony
The White Coat Ceremony marks the beginning of a lifelong professional and educational journey. A traditional symbol of compassion and professional training, the white coat represents clinical excellence and serves as a reminder of the privileges, duties, and responsibilities dental students have in service to the public.
These responsibilities include leadership within the community, a commitment to lifelong learning, and the sacred obligation to always put patients' needs first. The white coat is an outward symbol of each student's dedication to the core values of the dental profession, including respect for patient autonomy, beneficence, professionalism, nonmaleficence, justice, tolerance, and veracity.
As they don their white coats, members of the incoming class formally embark on their journey toward becoming skilled, ethical, and compassionate oral healthcare professionals dedicated to serving their patients and communities.
