Opening Reception for “Envisioning Climate Futures through Community Collaging Workshops”

Join the University of New England for an opening reception celebrating “Envisioning Climate Futures through Community Collaging Workshops,” an exhibit showcasing how residents of Biddeford and Saco envision the future of their communities in a changing climate.

The exhibit features artwork created by local residents during a series of workshops facilitated by UNE faculty and undergraduate students in spring 2026. Bringing together art and social science, the project explored how creative expression can help people reflect on their experiences with climate change, articulate what they value about the places they live, and imagine how their communities might respond to environmental change.

The project was developed by Jennifer Brousseau, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Marine and Environmental Programs, and Sarah Gorham, M.F.A., M.A.T., assistant academic director and teaching professor in the School of Arts and Humanities, with undergraduate environmental science students Elizabeth Erskine (’27) and Allie Morse, B.S. ’26.

The reception is open to the public. The exhibit will remain on view through Sept. 30.
