Anna L. Bass

Dr. Bass was trained as a zoologist and has been lucky to work on invertebrates, fish, reptiles, birds and mammals. While Molecular Ecology is a broad descriptor of her field of study, recent research on stranded and rehabilitated marine mammals led to deeper interests in the field of disease ecology and the concept of ecosystem health. In addition, she is interested in  the One Health approach as a strategy to link multiple disciplines in the study, prevention and management of emerging diseases.  She teaches in the Cell and Molecular Biology program in the Biology Department because of her extensive experience with molecular techniques and use of genetics to elucidate patterns of behavior and population connectivity. Plus she thinks Genetics and Molecular Biology is really cool!
