Arnetta Fletcher, PhD, RDN, LDN

Arnetta Fletcher, PhD, RDN, LDN is a subject matter expert and instructor for the College of Graduate and Professional Studies' Master of Science in Applied Nutrition Program.

Prior to UNE, Dr. Fletcher fulfilled her requirements to become a licensed, registered dietitian nutritionist by earning her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in pediatrics, from the University of Delaware. She also completed a specialized dietetic internship program through Iowa State University. Her work experience varied within the fields of clinical and community nutrition, where she focused on addressing nutrition complications stemming from chronic diseases in individual and groups.

Dr. Fletcher earned her PhD in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests revolved around the identification of biological mechanisms of cancer progression in various human cancers. Her doctoral research involved the study of the biological effects of compounds derived from cruciferous vegetables on human prostate cancer in preclinical animal and human models. Her research was a generous, collaborative effort with the United States Department of Agriculture's Agriculture Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland.

Professional interests of Dr. Fletcher include nutrition education and translational science, clinical dietetics, and nutrition policy.
