Eliana Huffman, MPH, CPH, CHES

Maine SNAP-Ed Community Engagement Program Coordinator

Eliana serves as Community Engagement Program Coordinator for Maine SNAP-Ed, a federally funded program that provides nutrition education services to help low-income Maine families shop, cook, and eat healthy on a budget.

Eliana completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in 2023 at the University of South Florida, where she concentrated in Health Promotion and Behavior and pursued an additional Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Health. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 2018 at James Madison University, where she pursued majors in Communication Studies and Media Arts and Design and a minor in Global Religions and Global Issues. She is a certified health education specialist and is certified in public health.

Prior to her career at the University of New England, Eliana contributed to research and health education efforts addressing maternal and child health at the University of South Florida. She also fostered community engagement and promoted grassroots advocacy initiatives within the cardiology specialty for a health care association in Washington, DC, and has led other communications efforts for organizations addressing international food insecurity and more.
