Dr. Gail Johnson is an analytical chemist that is excited to bring her experience from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to the University of New England. She spent more than a decade in research and development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop analytical methods while solving complex scientific challenges.

Before entering industry, Dr. Johnson taught general chemistry, analytical chemistry, and instrumental chemistry laboratories. She has also mentored undergraduate researchers, graduate students, interns, and early-career scientists, and is passionate about helping students build confidence while developing strong scientific reasoning skills.

Dr. Johnson hopes her students leave her courses with the confidence to investigate the world thoughtfully, the curiosity to keep asking questions, and the analytical mindset needed to make evidence-based decisions.
