Karen Nelson, MA, MLIS

Karen supports student and faculty research as part of UNE’s research and teaching librarian team. She has been with UNE since August 2025, and liaises directly with the Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environment and Sustainability, Marine Sciences, and Mathematics & Data Sciences departments. 

She is available at the reference desk, through classroom instruction, and for consultations, whether on campus, via Teams/Zoom, through our online chat feature, or email. 

Karen has worked as an academic librarian for the past decade and is passionate about promoting genuine learning and mastery in accessing and using information for real-world impacts.
