Kristen J. Davis, Ph.D.

Kristen currently teaches writing for the school of Arts and Humanities as well as the Student Academic Success Center. She has taught a range of courses during her career, mostly in writing and rhetoric, British literature, and popular culture. While on the pre-med track, Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 2004. Ultimately, she decided to pursue her passion for teaching and literature and received her Master of Arts in English from ODU in 2007. She also holds a Ph.D. in English from West Virginia University where she focused on the gothic, Victorian imperialism, and gender and sexuality. She grew up in Yarmouth, Maine and loves her home state. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and exploring with her dachshund Moxie.
